Title: Using CH greatly affects audio sound playback
Post by: cheeto81 on April 21, 2008, 08:47:09 PM
Please let me know if this is normal/expected...

I'm playing mp3's off of drive E
When i use CH to move files - in this case from drive D to drive E, all of a suddent the sound start "stuttering" so bad i have to either stop CH, or stop the audio playback.

This happens with wmp or winamp (only player's i've tried)...

it should be noted that my nvidia nforce SATA controller and Microsoft UAA bas driver for high def audio are sharing the same IRQ...but what i've read is that i have to physically uninstall devices to change the IRQ, and that XP is designed to share IRQ's, and this is usually not the issue.

FYI, i have an integrated audio card.

Great program otherwise

Hello,
The drive which is involved in copying is usually pushed to its limits with one big transfer and other ones may have problems getting small chunks of data on time. Alternatively - check if you have dma enabled for your disks since it is one of the known solutions to the problem.
